Troop 150 Eagle's Nest
The home of all of our proud Eagle Scouts for Troop 150
Josh Brown
September 2025
Josh's Eagle project involved a trail restoration project for the Deerfield Park District. Josh wanted his Eagle project to improve trail conditions for local bikers, walkers and runners. He was inspired by a fellow Scout's mom to work on creating a new connector trail in Deerfield. His final project, once revised and planned, became the Trail Tree Park trail restoration.
Henry Gamson
July 2025
Henry's Eagle project was the creation of two bat box nurseries from scratch. The nurseries were then mounted at Fink and Centennial Parks in Highland Park, IL. Henry hopes that the bat box nurseries will help the area bat population recover as this population has lost a lot of its habitats, and the bats represent a very important species in our ecosystem.
Nick Goto Goldenberg
July 2023
Nick's Eagle Scout Project converted a water-damaged room in the Zion Lutheran Church basement into a storage facility alongside addressing certain issues in the building that were leading to water damage, such as fixing a broken gutter and adding a barricade to mitigate runoff. In total Nick and his volunteers disposed of 2 tons of unwanted items from the church.
Jaycek Roberts
August 2025
Jaycek's Eagle project benefitted the Cancer Wellness Center in Highland Park, IL. Jaycek led a team of volunteers landscaping the area under a recently erected pergola on the Cancer Wellness Center grounds. Jaycek and his team created a gravel path leading to the pergola, leveled and covered the area underneath the pergola with gravel, then purchased outdoor furniture to be used in the newly landscaped spot. This beautiful outdoor seating area will be enjoyed by many Cancer Wellness Center guests for years to come.
Alexander Knight
July 2025
Alexander’s Eagle Scout project benefitted Nuestro Centro, affiliated with the Josselyn Center in HIghland Park, IL. Alexander and his team of Scout volunteers organized and transformed the center’s basement, creating space for summer camp activities and a dance studio for local youth to learn, play, and express themselves.
Lucas Hoobler
July 2025
For his Eagle project, Lucas, with the support of North Shore School District 112, planned and led a trail restoration at May T. Watts Park, located behind Highland Park's Ravinia Elementary School. His efforts transformed the space by clearing debris from the trails, laying fresh gravel, constructing a seating area and learning circle, and installing informative signs to highlight the native plants along the paths. All this was done while preserving the significant history behind the park.
Charlie Friedman
August 2025
Charlie's Eagle project beneficiary was Deerfield High School as a trail restoration project of a heavily used and largely neglected muddy and wet path in the wetlands area behind the high school connecting to Painter's Lake subdivision. Charlie planned and led the transformation of the path with geo-textile, base gravel, and a top layer of compacting gravel. This transformation allows for continued use of the trail and allows the wetlands to pass water through to either side of the trail. The Deerfield High School cross country team and many other students and local residents will benefit from this much needed improvement.
Alex Silverman
July 2025
Alex's Eagle project benefitted the Midwest Veteran's Closet which is a charity that supports and benefits veterans and their families. Alex and his group of volunteers designed and built container gardens that are used for growing fruits and vegetables that will be distributed to the veteran community free of charge.
Will Richter
July 2023
Will's Eagle project focused on upgrading the outdoor seating at the Cancer Wellness Center in Northbrook. Will and his team revamped the area by replacing the old, uneven concrete paver patio with a larger space paved with bricks. They also gave a facelift to two planters near the patio.
