Scouting Adventure

That's what Scouting is at Troop 150. The Scouts run an active outdoor program year 'round. From skiing to sailing to backpacking to canoeing and whitewater rafting, Scouts have fun.

Troop 150 offers boys from 11 to 18 living in the Deerfield or Highland Park area the chance to try things they may never have attempted - rappelling, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, or backpacking. It will take them to places they may never have gone - the north woods of Minnesota and Canada, Isle Royale in Lake Superior, the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula, or the Rockies. It will bring them face-to-face with animals they may never have seen - moose, bear, coyotes, beaver and more.

Troop 150 gives boys a chance to learn to camp and backpack. It lets them learn wilderness survival and cold-weather survival. It lets them learn to explore nature without leaving a trace.

Scouts in Troop 150 have the opportunity to learn to lead others, to teach new skills, and give something back to their communities. They are provided every encouragement to grow into confident and competent young men.

The 2019-2020 Scouting year is Troop 150's 60th year of service to the youth in the area and to the community.  We've been recognized by the Village of Deerfield with a proclamation celebrating our first fifty years.
