OUR TROOP

Who We Are

Troop 150 is a great place for a boy to learn how to live a life of duty, sacrifice, and leadership.  It's a great place to learn how the scout oath and promise will sustain and guide him for the rest of his life.  It's a great place to learn about nature and build relationships that will last  a lifetime.  It's also a great place to have fun.

   LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES

The Boy Scouts of America is the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. In the future, Scouting will continue to:

  • Offer young people responsible fun and adventure;

  • Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law;

  • Train young people in citizenship, service and leadership;

  • Serve Americaís communities and families with its quality, values-based program.

What We Offer

Troop 150 is committed to the ideals of Boy Scouts established by our founder over a hundred years ago.  We believe that the ideals that Lord Baden Powell established for young men to grow into healthy, productive leaders in our society are as applicable today as they were in 1900.  Building a relationship with other Scouts, the outdoors, and skills that will serve them throughout life will develop our scouts into the leaders of tomorrow.

Our troop is defined by "The Scouting Promise".  We strive to deliver the promise of Scouting to all our youth including other youth that our troop may come into contact with, in the best possible way to help them live through the principles of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Scouting Promise

SCOUTING promises you the great outdoors.  As a Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land.  You'll study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around you.  There are plenty of skills for you to master, and you can teach others what you have learned.  Everyone helping everyone else - that's part of scouting too.

SCOUTING promises you friendship.  Members of the troop you join might be boys you already know, and you will meet many other scouts along the way.  Some could become lifelong friends.

SCOUTING promises you opportunities to work towards the Eagle Scout Rank.  You will set positive goals for yourself and then follow clear routes to achieve them.

SCOUTING promises you the tools to help you make the most of your family, your community, and your nation.  The good deeds you perform every day will improve the lives of those around you.  You will be prepared to help others in times of need.

SCOTING promises you experiences and duties that will helpyou mature into a strong, wise adult.  The Scout Oath and the Scout Law guide you while you are a Scout and throughout your life.

Adventure, learning, challenge, responsibility - the promise of Scouting is all this and more.
