Lucas Hoobler

July 2025

For his Eagle project, Lucas, with the support of North Shore School District 112, planned and led a trail restoration at May T. Watts Park, located behind Highland Park's Ravinia Elementary School. His efforts transformed the space by clearing debris from the trails, laying fresh gravel, constructing a seating area and learning circle, and installing informative signs to highlight the native plants along the paths. All this was done while preserving the significant history behind the park. His efforts were awarded the 2025 Historic Preservation Award by the City of Highland Park for outstanding landscape restoration.
