On January, 20, Troop 150 loaded up the trailer and set off for camp Oakarro in Wadsworth, Illinois. The Klondike was about to start the next day. We got there and chose a campsite. It was very muddy. It rained all of Friday night. There was even a stream inside our campsite.
After a nice sleep we woke up and had breakfast quickly. Then we went out to the field and attended the flag ceremony. After that we went to first aid which we actually did good on. Then fire building where we had to cook a pancake. We did not do well on this. We did not even have a fire going by the end.
Once that was over we headed over to sawing and axe chopping. We did really well on this part and got good scores. Then we did orienteering which we did pretty well on. And then we had lunch which was ramen. Later, we did an activity with the Scout Law and Oath. We got first place out of the two other groups with us. Then we had cup stacking. But this cup stacking was special because we had to use a rubber band with a bunch of strings connected to it. This was fun and we did pretty good. Overall The Klondike was an awesome campout. We acquired lots of new skills and hope to acquire more skills during the upcoming campouts.
