Scout Sunday

On Sunday, January, 5, scouts from Troop 150 and Crew 150 attended Scout Sunday, a church service with some readings read by Boy Scouts and Venturers. There is not much to say other than at one point during the service, two scouts said what being a boy scout means to them. These words were very profound. We did have some readings about the Scout Law. We also listened to the pastor talk about adaptability. Afterwards we went into the church basement and ate a breakfast provided by the Scouts.

The Klondike Derby

On January, 20, Troop 150 loaded up the trailer and set off for camp Oakarro in Wadsworth, Illinois. The Klondike was about to start the next day. We got there and chose a campsite. It was very muddy. It rained all of Friday night. There was even a stream inside our campsite. After a nice sleep we woke up and had breakfast quickly. Then we went out to the field and attended the flag ceremony. After that we went to first aid which we actually did good on. Then fire building where we had to cook a pancake. We did not do well on this. We did not even have a fire going by the end. Once that was over we headed over to sawing and axe chopping. We did really well on this part and got good scores. T
